Our Therapists

In the state of Virginia, massage therapists are required to complete 500 hours of classroom training in conjunction with performing student massage outside the classroom environment. Virginia also requires massage therapists to have in-depth training in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, and Swedish massage techniques, among others.

To obtain a massage license, one must pass a rigorous state exam administered by the Virginia Board of Nursing. It’s required by the Virginia Board to take 24 hours of continuing education (CEUs) every two years.

Christie is our founder and the visionary behind Medical Massage Clinic’s success. She completed the Massage Therapy course at Heritage Institute in Manassas, VA in April 2005. Christie maintains Board Certification from the National Certification Board of Massage Therapy and Bodywork and continues to broaden her knowledge of bodywork through continuing education. She is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

Christie is passionate about massage and offers a compassinate approach to her clients with a host of modalities like Medical Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Medicupping, Muscle Energy and Ultrasonic Cavitation.

Pam (On Medical Leave)

Pam is a certified massage therapist (CMT) that has been practicing massage in the Fredericksburg area since 2006. She finished the 600-hour program at Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington, D.C. During the day, Pam is a full-time P.E. teacher in Stafford County, so she can only schedule appointments in the evenings and on Saturdays.

Kiera (Medical Massage Practitioner)

Kiera attended massage therapy school at The National Massage Therapy Institute. For most of her life, Kiera has had the desire to help people who had aches and pains. She decided that going to school for massage therapy would allow her to achieve what she has always wanted to do. Kiera learned to grow her passion through schooling to help others in a therapeutic way. She attended a rigorous program with 750 plus hours of classroom time and many hours of hands-on practical training.

Kiera is also a certified Medical Massage Practitioner (MMP) within the state of Virginia through LMT Success Group.

Laura

Laura is a licensed massage therapist since 2008 and a certified reflexologist since 2010. She graduated from CTS Massage School and has continued learning through seminars and classes. Laura is a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.

After working in the dental field for 23 years, Laura wanted a change. She enjoys working with her hands and caring for others. Laura chose massage therapy as her next profession and passion. She offers multiple modalities including Medical Massage, Reflexology and Bamboo Massage. As a reflexologist, she has helped her clients with medical issues by working areas of the feet. Laura believes, “If you bring the feet to life, then the rest of the body will follow.”

Taylor studied Massage Therapy at The American Spirit Institute in Richmond, Virginia. She completed a rigorous 500-plus hours of education at American Spirit Institute, which includes Pathology, Anatomy, Kinesiology, and body function assessments.

Taylor finds joy in easing her clients’ stress and pain levels. She will work out a treatment plan that best fits the needs of the client. Taylor specializes in Post Surgical Lymphatic Drainage for Plastic Surgery, such as Tummy Tuck, Liposuction, BBL, Breast Augmentation and Breast Reduction Surgery. After surgery, the body retains a lot of fluid that can be uncomfortable and painful, which can cause a range of problems like fibrosis. Patients sometimes don’t get the results they wanted following surgery. Taylor will use technique and other options for patients, like ultrasonic cavitation, to help slim you the way you’ve always wanted.

Stephanie has been a Licensed Massage Therapist for nine years, worked for two Chiropractors for four years, certified in Reiki for four years, Yoga Instructor (which includes Restorative, Breathwork and now Yin) for five years; last year, she received her certification in Informed Trauma Bodywork, and became a student of Bowenwork. Recently, she received her Meditation and Yin Yoga certifications. Her intention is to support clients recovering from various traumas (including religious, emotional-anxiety/stress and physical-surgery/sports recovery) by creating a safe space to allow the body to heal on all levels.

With degrees in Health Science, focusing on exercise, nutrition, and fitness, Helen applies cutting-edge methods to maximize client health. Helen specializes in massage therapy methods such as deep massage, cranial sacral therapy, strain-counter strain specialty for knees and hip rebalancing, muscle release techniques with stretching, and stability training to assist with pain management, injury recovery, and preventative care. Other techniques Helen provides are reflexology, as well as Muscle-Nervous system release work Bowenwork associated with American Bowen Academy. Ms. Leonard works closely with a chiropractic and pain management clinic, bringing an innovative and effective approach resulting in profound long-term improvement. She completed an intensive 600 hour massage therapy program at the prestigious Northern Virginia School of Therapeutic Massage, and countless hours of hands-on practical training. Caroline’s life path brought her into the massage field when she realized that what she loves most is to help others. Caroline is most notably known for Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, and Headache Relief, in which she always creates a soothing environment for clients to relax. Daniel

Daniel’s wellness skill stack began with personal training, working with disabled adults and post rehab medical exercise. He found that restrictions in mobility were difficult to address through exercise alone and became interested in manual therapies. In 2003, Daniel attended the Utah College of Massage Therapy for an 815.5 hr. base of training in massage, with a strong structural and myofascial approach. He has been licensed as a massage therapist in VA since that fall. 

 

For the last 20 years, Daniel has expanded his skill set while working in day spas, a medical office, a resort, private practice, traveling to athletic events, and supporting dancers and theatrical performances backstage. For a time, he even served as a medic with the VA Army National Guard. Halfway through deployment, Daniel had his table shipped to Iraq and would work on mobility issues that could impact soldier and unit readiness. 

 

Taking in new techniques and seeing how they can be applied to eliminate pain, enhance mobility, and take the stress out of stressful times is one of Daniel’s favorite things. If you want his help reaching those goals, he is glad to be here for you.

Nakia is a mom of 3 plus 2 fur babies and am passionate about healing and helping people feel their best. She has been a Virginia licensed Massage Therapist since 2022 after graduating from Lotus Professional College in Richmond, VA, from their intensive 600-hour massage therapy program, where she gained a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and the massage techniques listed below.

 

Nakia continues her education and training to bring the best modalities to clients to serve their needs. She has completed certifications in both Somatic Trauma Therapy as well as Functional Breathwork to assist with those working through trauma trapped in their body causing chronic pain and those suffering from anxiety, depression, and PTSD, helping them develop coping strategies.
